Job description :

Our client, a well-established pharmaceutical company in Canada, is present in several market segments. They are currently looking for a sales representative for their biosimilar team.

The ideal candidate will have drug sales experience and relevant disease and product knowledge. He or she also possesses strong influencing and negotiation skills honed in highly competitive markets.

Ensure monitoring systems are in place and effectively managed to evaluate the effectiveness of the sales force. Regularly measures success, documents and provides feedback on performance to management. Establishes effective working relationships with key local and national opinion leaders who can influence policy positions and prescribing protocols. Manages territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenses. Acts as a resource person for other sales team members, and supports the Line Manager in mentoring and coaching other team members. Participates in the preparation of internal and external sales meetings and conferences. Assists line manager in meeting regional business development needs.

Lead strategic planning sessions and facilitate ongoing performance reporting to key stakeholders. Performs necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner, e.g. update customer database, expenses, etc.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree and more than 5 years' relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry - including 1-2 years' experience in specialty area.
  • At least two years as a Senior Therapeutic Specialist is preferred.
  • Has solid knowledge of industry trends and stays current with competitor resources and practices.
  • Can discuss the pros and cons (overall plan goals, cost and effectiveness, dosage, duration, etc.) of a product protocol, and identify opportunities to improve current treatments to best meet patient needs. E
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with a high level of autonomy and independence, and be seen as an expert in sales and the relevant therapeutic area within the internal team.
  • Familiar with industry trends and keeps up to date with competitor resources and practices and has experience in mentoring and coaching peers within the sales team.
